Wet Wednesday in January

Wet Wednesday
Hope everyone is having a good week; if you’re in the Houston Texas area you’re having a wet rainy week. Praise God for the rain as we really need it even if it’s makes for bad driving conditions, wet stinky doggies as they come inside and oh let’s not forget the dirty floors. I hear we may have some sunshine for a couple of days then rain again however no one should complain as we really need the liquid sunshine. The other good thing is that it gives you time to work on some crafts and catch up on some reading. I have been doing a little of both. Working on a baby shower and bridal shower for this month and next it’s exciting to be able to give young people little things like showers that will make their lives a little easier but more than that make them smile with happiness.
I am also reading a great book that Trey and Lauren gave me for Christmas and it’s really good. I sure some of you have read it the name of it is Heaven is for Real. By Todd Burpo I just started it and with work, crafting and house work I am halfway through which for me is really good. I like to read but seem to always be doing something else then when its bed time I start to read and sleep city here I come.
Wanted to tell you about a birthday party I did back in December, it was for a little boy turning 2. He loves Toy Story as all other little kids and that was the theme of the party. I did him a candy buffet and he was so excited when he seen all the candy and toys in the buffet as well as the other children and might I add the adults. I took some pictures and wanted to share with you, hope you enjoy.

Stay dry the rest of the week and always remember I love you to the moon and Back !!!!!!!!!!

Cotton Bowl Weekend
Sorry it’s been a few days since I last blogged. We have been a bit busy getting my hubby to leave on a job for 4-8 weeks. It’s like moving him but with just his clothes. The poor man doesn’t have that many to begin with or at least that is what I thought until we started packing. He is so stubborn he thinks he can take everything in 1 suitcase. We are not through so we shall see. It’s going to be different with him gone as I have not been alone for that long since 8-22-1984. With us being empty nesters I am going to have to find things to keep me busy or I may go crazy. I will be flying out to see him at one point and in between I will be working on a baby shower for a sweet dear friend’s daughter Lauren and a bridal shower for my God Daughter Lauren. Just a thought Lauren was a popular name back in the 80’s as I have a daughter n law Lauren, 2 friends with daughters name Lauren and then my God Daughter. Guess I might have to # them to keep track.
However before we worked and were lazy this weekend watching the Texas and the rain we went to Aggie land aka The Hayes Family in Willis. My God Daughter went to Texas A&M as well as her finance and her dad Rick is a big Sooner Fan with all his brothers so you can only imagine how the night began.  Since I didn’t go to school there but both Lauren my Son Trey love the Aggies I usually hope they win. So from Kingwood to Willis Larry and I stopped and searched for an A&M shirt to surprise Lauren with and can you believe we never found one. I was not a happy camper and neither was Larry for having to stop so much. Guess he really loves me after all, so I went in my Rockets gear because I do LOVE my Rockets. We had such a good time with them and their friends Kelly and Darren, the food and drinks were great even though we had no clue how to make a frozen daiquiri or pina colada. But put 3 Aggies together and man do they come out Great. Before you think I thought she was a Christian and she is drinking  well “Yes” we are all Christian and as 1 of the men informed us the Rum goes in the drink; guess we didn’t use what we were supposed to use so can we say almost virgin drinks. This was all fun however there was a Bet made between Rick and Debbie made before we all got there. Rick bet Debbie that if the Aggies lost she would jump in their pool and Rick would jump if the Sooners lost. Remember we live in Texas and even though we don’t get snow it does get cold. The outside temp was about 42 degrees and Rick said the pool 50 degrees. So to this Texas girl that’s cold and I would not want to be the one to lose. If you watch the news’s you should already know who had to jump in the cold pool water and it was not an Aggie. It was a blast to egg it on as Rick was not really happy at all that his Sooner’s lost. Let me set the record straight he does like the Aggies just not when they play the Sooners. They were season ticket holders while Lauren was in school. We videotaped it and took pictures and below are some of them. Hope you enjoy them as much as we did taking them!!!
Love you all to the moon and back.

All of us after Rick Jump in the Pool.

Rick not happy the Sooner"s are loosing the game.

Rick Fixing to Jump!!!!!!! COLD

Rick coming out of the COLD water and it was not a nice
word coming from his mouth either. LOL it's OK it was not that bad.
He is out of the water and after a nice hot shower he finally got the Right Shirt On.

Texas Tea

This Texas Girl is proud of herself, I have been drinking sweet tea for oh so long and I decided the first step to help lose weight is to start drinking it UN sweet tea. Guess what 2 days and no sweet tea but I have to say thank you Jesus for sweet n low or this born and raised Texan would be in trouble. Sound like a little thing however I really think it’s like being and addict on drugs. I gave up Dr. Pepper in 2007 and that was horrible the headaches were rough. With tea no headache but a little jittery from no sugar today with this eating right and walking I am going to get this weight off. I am going to take this 1 step at a time. To keep my mind off of it I did a little sewing tonight working on a tooth fairy pillow for my G-man once it’s done I will share it, only if it turns out ok. Also have some Christmas Pictures of a candy bouquet I made for a Company and treat bags for their workers. However I deleted them by accident off my camera so I am going to try and send the ones off my phone to my email so I can save them and upload them.
Wish me luck. Hope everyone is having a great week!!!

Love you all to the moon and back

2013 Positive Thoughts

As today brings in a New Year I am going to start this year with positive and happy thought. This will now be about all the fun I have working on my Candy Creations and Planning Events as well as some fun things about my life I may want to share.

I believe I finally have realized that I don’t have to talk about my sweet girl every day and only live to think of her to keep her alive in me. Another mom who lost her son helped me to realize this and I thank her so very much (Carla) you’re an amazing friend even if you live in Oklahoma J Love you girl. So on this day I pledge to begin living a fun filled happy life to the best of my ability. I do believe now that is what Melissa would have wanted  me and my family to do, will we  still have sad days Yes however we have to live and not dwell in the past and can do all this with the help of God .

The only thing I will be doing for Melissa is work on creating a Foundation that will help pass laws on Road Rage & try to Raise Money for other vitcims families  that may need help or for scholarships for young women that are at risk of not attending  college as that is what Melissa would have wanted. I have been thinking about this for a while now and have come up with a name and hopefully it will be P.A.R.R. which would stand for People Against Road Rage. I have no clue how to do this but will keep you posted once it gets started.
Love you all to the Moon and Back
